Ofload: Freight SEO and a Native Carrier App in Australia, from 95 to 420 Shipper Leads a Month

Enterprise technical SEO and programmatic freight-corridor pages to win shippers, plus native iOS and Android carrier apps and store optimisation to win truck drivers — for Ofload, an Australian digital road freight platform.

Last updated September 2026

The client

Ofload is an Australian digital road freight platform that matches shippers — FMCG, retail and manufacturing brands — with carriers and owner-drivers. It has to grow on two sides at once: enterprise shippers asking for freight quotes, and truck drivers who install the carrier app to find loads, submit proof of delivery and get paid.

The problem

At the start of 2025 the website ran on a legacy static build, drew about 19,200 organic clicks a month and held a Google top-three position on 16 commercial terms, producing about 95 shipper leads a month.

The carrier app was a cross-platform hybrid build with about 1,150 installs a month. Only 6.4% of store visitors installed it, and each verified onboarded driver cost AUD 52.40.

What we did

  • Freight-corridor pages. More than 240 programmatic interstate corridor hubs, grouped into intercapital lane clusters, with structured logistics service markup on every route.
  • Technical SEO. Indexation rebuilt and largest contentful paint brought under 1.2 seconds; shipper searches separated from career-driver searches so each lands on the right page; industry link acquisition from supply-chain publications.
  • Native carrier apps. The hybrid app rebuilt natively in Swift and Kotlin, with sign-on-glass proof of delivery and FastPay integration for driver settlement within 48 hours.
  • Driver onboarding. Automated recognition of ABN and policy documents, sign-up cut from 14 fields to four steps, and push alerts that bring back drivers who stall halfway.
  • Store optimisation. FastPay on the lead screenshots, a 30-second driver demonstration video, and continuous A/B tests on icons and keyword tags in both stores.
  • Shipper conversion. Freight rate estimator widgets on lane pages, and high-tonnage enquiries routed straight to the sales desks.

What this means for your digital road freight platform

The plain-language version. Over 2025 Ofload's organic clicks grew 4.6-fold and its top-three Google positions on commercial freight terms went from 16 to 148. The corridor pages cover lanes such as Melbourne to Sydney; for Victorian businesses, see SEO for Melbourne businesses.

Enterprise shipper leads rose from about 95 to 420 a month, and more of them became contracts. On the driver side, the rebuilt app went from about 1,150 to 6,700 installs a month, and each onboarded driver cost less than half as much.

What this says about shakalakaa: we can build the product and market it in the same engagement — native app development, store optimisation and SEO — and judge the work on shippers and drivers won, not on either part alone.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What did shakalakaa do for Ofload?

Built more than 240 programmatic freight-corridor pages and rebuilt the technical SEO, rebuilt the carrier app natively in Swift and Kotlin with proof of delivery and FastPay, shortened driver sign-up, optimised both app store listings and added freight rate estimators to lane pages.

What were the results?

From January to December 2025: organic clicks from 19,200 to 88,400 a month, top-three commercial terms from 16 to 148, carrier app installs from 1,150 to 6,700 a month, cost per onboarded driver from AUD 52.40 to AUD 24.10, and shipper leads from 95 to 420 a month.

Why rebuild the carrier app natively?

Drivers use the app on the road to take jobs, sign for deliveries and get paid. A native build in Swift and Kotlin made those steps faster and more reliable than the hybrid app it replaced, which showed in store ratings and installs.

Is the AUD 24.10 cost per driver shakalakaa's fee?

No. It is the client's media cost divided by verified onboarded drivers. shakalakaa does not publish its fees.
