Where do I search a company in Hong Kong?
Search on the Companies Registry e-Services Portal (opens in a new tab), under e-Search Services. The Registry's e-Search FAQ (opens in a new tab) says no user registration is needed: you can search as an unregistered online user.
You can also search onsite at the Registry's e-Services Centre, 13/F, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, open 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, except public holidays.

What are the steps to search on the e-Services Portal?
These steps follow the Registry's pamphlet How to Obtain Company Information (opens in a new tab) (PAM 10E, August 2026):
- Go to the e-Services Portal at www.e-services.cr.gov.hk.
- With no account, select Unregistered Users, then e-Search Services. Account holders who subscribe to e-Search log in instead.
- Choose the type of search under Search in the menu bar, such as Company Name Search or Company Particulars Search.
- Pay for any paid item by credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, FPS or PPS Shop&Buy; account users can also use prepayment.
- View, download, print or save the result. Certified copies are collected at the e-Services Centre or sent by post or courier for a handling charge.
Which Companies Registry searches are free?
Four index searches cost nothing. The Company Name Search shows basic details such as incorporation date, company type, dissolution date and name history; the Document Index lists documents a company has filed, registered or pending.

Residential addresses and full identification numbers in documents filed on or after 24 October 2022 are not open to public inspection, so they do not appear in search reports.
