Skin & Beam Hong Kong: Clinic Booking Platform and Meta Ads, Pre-Paid Bookings Up 4.3×

A custom mobile booking platform with published pricing, live branch availability and deposit checkout, server-side Conversions API tracking and Meta Ads for Skin & Beam, a Hong Kong aesthetic clinic with branches in Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok, measured in pre-paid bookings, cost per booking and checkout drop-off.

The client

Skin & Beam is a Hong Kong aesthetic clinic with branches in Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok. Its patients were arriving from social ads, but almost every booking still went through a conversation with the clinic.

The problem

Leads from social ads needed several rounds of WhatsApp messages before a booking was made, and many dropped out along the way. Treatment pricing was not published, so people left before stating any intent.

The old third-party booking widget sent no server-side events, so Meta could only optimise for clicks, not for paid appointments. At the start the clinic took 85 pre-paid bookings a month, at HK$890 of Meta spend each, and 68% of people who started checkout did not finish.

What we did

  • A booking platform built for mobile. A headless front end with every treatment price published, a branch selector for Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok, and real-time availability, loading in 1.4 seconds.
  • Deposit checkout. SMS one-time-passcode verification and Apple Pay or card deposits through Stripe, synced to the clinic's system so a slot is held the moment it is paid for. Most bookings complete in under two minutes.
  • Server-side tracking. Server-side Tag Manager, the Meta Conversions API and GA4 e-commerce events pass verified deposit values back to Meta, so delivery is optimised for paying patients.
  • Offer-led Meta Ads. Advantage+ campaigns and Reels built around entry-level treatments, pointing straight at the booking pages.
  • Branch-level targeting. Separate ad sets within 3 km of each of the three branches.
More detail on what we did

Medical and aesthetic advertising in Hong Kong sits under the Undesirable Medical Advertisements Ordinance (Cap. 231) — see the Hong Kong medical ad checker and the rules guide (Traditional Chinese).

What this means for your clinic

The plain-language version. Within six months the clinic went from 85 to 362 paid bookings a month, each booking cost HK$245 of ad spend instead of HK$890, and fewer than a quarter of people who started checkout left without paying.

What this says about shakalakaa: we build the booking platform, wire the tracking and run the Meta Ads as one system, so the ads are optimised for the deposits the clinic actually receives.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What did shakalakaa do for Skin & Beam?

Built a mobile booking platform with published pricing, live branch availability and deposit checkout, set up server-side Conversions API and GA4 tracking, and ran Meta Ads targeted around each of the three branches.

What were the results?

Over a six-month growth phase: pre-paid bookings from 85 to 362 a month, Meta cost per booking from HK$890 to HK$245, and checkout drop-off from 68% to 22%.

Why build a booking platform instead of just running ads?

Because the old booking flow ran through WhatsApp and a widget that sent Meta no payment data. With deposits taken on the site and passed back through the Conversions API, Meta could optimise for paying patients.

Is the HK$245 shakalakaa's fee?

No. It is the client's Meta media cost per confirmed booking. shakalakaa does not publish its fees.
